On my computer, I have the new windows live messenger (msn), but when I turn on my computer it automatically logs me onto the old windows messenger (the really old one). I thought I deleted windows messenger a long time ago, and I can't find it listed in the programs list. There is also no desktop icon for it, folders, or logo in the right corner by the time. It really annoys me because it automatically signs me in, and people can send me messages and I can't even view the actual messenger list. When I sign into the newer msn, it logs off the old one and says I have signed in on a different computer. Can't find the program anywere, so how do I get rid of it?

The old Windows Messenger is installed when XP is originally installed.

To remove it:

Click on Start
Settings
Control Panel
Add or Remove Programs
Then Select Add/Remove Windows Components

This will bring up a list of components and Windows Messenger will be there, uncheck it and click next, then finish.
