Sprinkle with lemon juice. It should be alright depending on the recipe. Despite the lemon juice dont leave the apples standing for a long time.

Acid... lemon juice as stated by the others... also you may wish to use a vinegar (like apple cider videgar) or even wine if you wish to use the apple in a fruit salad or anything like that this may be the acid of choice.
Whatever acid you select, a quick rinse will suffice.

dip the apple in lemon juice or some water with lemon juice in it. Orange juice will also work. Citric acid will stop the browning.

I have heard you can put a lemon slice or lemon zest in with your applein a plastic baggie in the fridge it should keep a couple of days.
