I believe it is 54" not 56, but they will vary if they are made to order. Call to confirm with a mattress dealer...

I don't know what size, but I do know that a double and a full are not the same. I have a single bed from my grandparents, and when I have inquired at bedding stores about finding sheets, they always tell me that it is the same as a twin...it isn't.

Double and full are the same thing, I've also seen them refered to as "Matrimonial", but only once. They're in between twin sizes and queen.
