I believe it is 54" not 56, but they will vary if they are made to order. Call to confirm with a mattress dealer...

I don't know what size, but I do know that a double and a full are not the same. I have a single bed from my grandparents, and when I have inquired at bedding stores about finding sheets, they always tell me that it is the same as a twin...it isn't.

I belive it's the same as a full size. Double meaning 2 people can sleep in it.

Double and full are the same thing, I've also seen them refered to as "Matrimonial", but only once. They're in between twin sizes and queen.

56" wide X same lenght as a standard twin mattress.
