My gf is VERY pretty. I'm sure before I came around she (like other beautiful women) hear constantly how pretty they are. My girl is really intelligent too. I tell her she's beautiful and all but mostly how intelligent she is. She said last night that guys dont want a smart girl. What do you think?

Some guys want a meaningful, mature relationship, some guys just want sex. Maybe she has only been talking to the guys who wanted sex from her and that's how she thinks all men are.
Prove her wrong!

I think guys want a smart girl, but that guys are also more immediately attracted to beauty, so they may ignore the smart girl.
Another issue is that many of the guys with decent morals say that they do not want to date anybody. I try not to let it bother me, but it kills me inside. I am very attracted to my best friend, but he doesn't seem to think he wants a girlfriend. It seems that he has been hurt a lot, and that he is a very loving person. I am the same way, and I know I would make a good girlfriend for him. But he continues not to see that.
And don't just assume she always hears how pretty she is; I rarely heard it outside my family until a few years ago. Unfortunately, every action has an equal and opposite reaction; I have just as many people who think I'm ugly. If she's a little heavy, she may also have a hard time believing that she is pretty because people will not hesitate to call celebrities fat when they look healthy.

Who has she been talking to? Of course guys like a girl that can hold an intelligent conversation. Beauty is great but it fades over time. Intelligence lasts a lifetime.

If a guy is looking for a gf/partner/wife they definitely want a smart girl...who wants to share their life with a dumb chick. now if a guy wants to have sex/cheat/use a girl smart doesn't really work!
It depends on what the guy is looking for!

I believe men prefer an intelligent woman, someone that knows what they want. A woman that's not gonna put up with anybodies s#!+. Its a turn off for men when a woman is too needy or insecure.

She's wrong. I want an intelligent woman, and if a woman isn't too bright that's a massive turnoff. Who wants to spend time with a dumbass? What the hell would I talk about with her? A woman has got to be smart if she wants me to date her!

I think the one that's not so smart because half the time the pretty girls are the stupid girls. And guys go for pretty girls. Unless they don't only care about looks.

Why wouldn't a smart guy want a smart girl? Oh, of course... it's because we want them to be below us and never have any power in this world. Is that what she would say?

I dont believe that Men dont want to be involved with smart women. i DO believe that BOYS want to be involved with flakey GIRLS....
All the men i have been around have like the fact that i am able to carry on an intellegent conversation with out making them feel stupid.
My belief is not that men dont like smart girls, they just dont want the girls to be smarter than they are

A intelligent can get herself in trouble. She's always going to be right and you have to go along with the flow or you guys will not get along. I like the s that are meant to be seen not heard, they're more traditional and you don't have to worry about them talking to other guys becuz they're loyal.
