does the food coloring red #40 make anyone else sick to their somach?

I don't know what causes it, but it's known that people with an intolerance to aspirin and certain allergies have an adverse effect to Red No. 40. You may want to research it more if you're one of those people.

There are a number of red food colorings that are infamous for causing reactions- and I think #40 is one of them.

My sister actually has an allergic reaction to Red #40. She's had to learn to avoid it, but she seems to be addicted as she eats/drinks things with it in there, even though she KNOWS what happens to her when she does. She's silly like that. If it's troublesome to an extreme, see a doctor.

My BF in college was allergic to the blue dye that they use for raspberry flavor in candy. So I believe that any food coloring can make you sick. There are many food additives in foods today that can cause reactions. My bodybuilding teacher was allergic to MSG.

Well, I don't get sick from it. . .I just break out severely in hives and my fingers and toes swell really bad!
