Look for updates from the individual software manufacturers. Microsoft assumes no responability for that nor is it their responability to.

I'm sorry & do not mean to pour lemon juice on a paper cut, but you should have researched more before taking out your wallet & moving to Vista.

Any program you install on Windows XP should theoretically work with Windows Vista. Now for the really old programs that you used with Windows 3.11 and Windows 95 ... it is possible they won't work with Windows Vista but... if you got them working on XP you should know how to get them working on Vista.

Vista is a new interface so realize that until you get all 9 billion updates in a year from now a lot of things may take a while to work with it.

The same thing happened with the new internet explorer. You'd go to CNN.com and it would say: You must use the latest version of Internet Explorer. That may be the problem with Vista.

It would probably help if you made a list of programs you are trying to install that don't work.

You should check the Microsoft website for Vista issues. You might have to download additional files, etc.

in case you havent heard, alot of xp or earlier programs dont work on vista. this is because they are designed for an xp based OS. your best bet is to boot your drive and reinstall XP.
