Your thyroid isn't producing enough hormone (Levothyroxine). So the Levoxyl replaces it and provides the absent hormone. It's for energy and metabolism.

You have hypothyroidism which means your thyroid gland isn't producing the needed amount of thyroid hormone. You are taking a thyroid medication to make up the difference.
