The fleshy part of the upper arm (above where you generally get a needle) does not hurt much at all, and is easy enough to keep hidden from view with t-shirts etc. As for what it feels like, that is like asking someone if it is a heavy box-that depends on your point of view. Some people told me their tattoo hurt like h**l, and the ones I have didn't hurt much at all. It depends upon your mood at the time, and your tolerance for pain. Good luck with the ink work!

It really does not hurt bad at all. It feels like someone is scratching your sunburn. That may seem terrible but considering what's actually happening it's not bad at all. Just as a side comment- I wouldn't get one on your lower back unless you're the kind of girl who wants that reputation. It's just not very classy, and yes it is possible to have a classy tattoo.

Lower back...sorry.....lol I bet some moron asked you lower what? umm freaks!
Lets put this this way getting tattoo feels good depending on a area.....in your case getting tattoo on a lower back will feel very unpleasant. Hurts like sharp pain in a butt but nothing that a regular person cant handle. LOL Have fun!

somebody dragging hot glass against your skin. i know that sounds wierd, but i got one really low on my hip and thats what it felt like. areas with more muscle hurt less, but everybody has different pain tolerances. from personal experience, its not too bad. i mean its not a massage or anything, but its tollerable. after a bit, the area starts to get numb, and then it just kinda feels like sandpaper.... the key is to just keep your mind off it. talk to the artist, bring a friend, or a portable dvd player, or something. and the end result will be worth whatever pain is involved. ive never heard anybody say otherwise. and i know lots of people with tats.

One hundred needles a second. Its an irritating pain.

Rule of thumb: If you get a tattoo close to the bone its going to hurt more, as apposed to one that is located on the flesher part of the body.

If you have high tolerance for pain, it will be like millions of little pricks. I have a tattoo on my left ankle and I didn't flinch too much when the needle was close to the bone. It was a rush. Now I am officially INKED and I want more now.

On your lower what, arm back leg?
on a scale i will give numbers (one to ten for pain) A-C for tickles)

Getting a tattoo

On the nice meaty flesh of your a$$ feels ok. kinda vibraty-scratchy.2C

On the boney part of you ankel, not so good the vibrating is like a jack hammer.7

and on the should blade, kinda...eh shakey vibratey/scratchy... 5a

Getting a tattoo feels like a sting, and tickle and a burning. Then the fizzy, effervescent buzz, as though someone has poured a can of carbonated water over your skin.

I got mine on my wrist (inside) and at first it felt like someone was pinching me. But when he started filling it in (more like going up towards my palm) it hurt really bad... I'm a chicken though, so the pain was more for me than it was for my friend.

An idea I can't take back once I've made it reality.
Even if you don't see it for the rest of your life, can you imagine being a mature adult and having to explain it to your new partner?
That little young-looking thing you're now too scared to have removed?
