Uh-oh, people are going to call you evil....
Good question. Ever since I really started to question Christianity without the fear of others chastising me, I've always concluded that religion (not just limited to Christianity) was forged by man to explain the small as well as large phenomena of his daily life. Somewhere along the line, someone didn't get the original religion's explanations, so they created their own, and so on and so forth until we have the millions of religions and variations that are in our world today.
As human instinct shows us, you will try to protect anything that you believe in or create. Ginsberg wouldn't allow a student to use one of his poems for a research paper which belittled his touchy subjects within them because he made them. In turn, Christians try their hardest to protect their institution, and won't allows anyone to question it without blowing it off as being "blasphemous". If you ask why you can't see or hear God, they'll reply, "Well, you can't see air either but you're breathing it, aren't you?" or they'll say that he wants us to have faith without seeing him, and you will only be granted that gift if you are righteous enough. If that's the case, why is it that Noah, a drunkard (yes, people, Noah was a known drunk in the Bible. Look it up), was told by God to save his friends and family from the Great Flood that was coming to wash away the wicked?
Flaws and "invisible" passages inside the Bible are just another way to cover up the unexplainable happenings without question from those that are "faithful followers". Deep down, every Christian wants to know "how come..." but they button their lips because it will make them look like they don't believe in God enough. It's sad, is what it is.

"If you can not hear or see God, then how do we know Him?" I don't understand the question, I see and hear Him all the time! I see Him reflected in my life and hear His word all the time.
"If He exist only if we believe, then why not believe that I am God?" Because you aren't perfect and you didn't create the world.
"Why is the Bible so full of error?" It's not, it's error-free
"why believe in this God of so much evil, war, confusion, a mass of conflicting impulses indeed.. Why?" God isn't the reason for evil, war, etc., man is.

I cannot see Love or Hate eithor; but these forces influence my every decision.
Sounds like you do not know God very well. Yes, we are all God (Genisis & Body of Christ) ... God exists even if you don't ... you can see God and talk to him ... but differently than you're used to ... the errors you see in the Bible are often paths for you to search for the good stuff God has waiting for you (aka true love)... please explore.
Evil, war, confusion are simply turning away from God's plan ... aka hate.

If God did things the way that we wanted Him to do, He wouldn't be God. If He stopped evil when WE wanted Him to, if He stopped war when WE wanted Him to, if He spoke aloud when WE wanted Him to, would He be God? That sounds like a robot. "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." - (Isaiah 55:8-9) Give your life to Him. He knows it better than you do because He created you and He loves you. "For we walk by faith and not by sight." - 2Corinthians 5:7 The things we see are temporary. Think about it. It all passes away. But, the things we do not see never pass away. May God give you understanding in Jesus' name.

The Truth does not need your belief to make it True. If a persons soul isn't dead when Jesus talks to it, it will hear and understand. Only someone who is alive can hear him unless he permits otherwise and this is why the prayers of those who know and love him are so important on a person's behalf. They can afford the grace needed to give someone Faith, because Faith IS a gift.
