People insult others even when the others have not done anything wrong. Sharing your opinion already gets you hated by a bunch of people on this category. I think a new sub-category called war should be opened, to keep the people who fight seperated from the peaceful ones. This way the peaceful ones don't have to deal with being called idiots and such.
Can people keep it peaceful in answers and have their battles by e-mail or instant message? Yahoo answers is a cold war instead of a peaceful place to obtain a response your question.

the problem is that people are abusing this forum this forum was meant to ask questions and answer questions and was really meant for people of all different backgrounds and religious or nonreligious beliefs to learn from and teach one another different things but instead people are using this forum to try to convert or deconvert people to and from religion and to debate one another

I once, very nicely, (tongue in cheek) asked about getting a category for "Vent" & someone reported me & it was removed. I didn't break any guidelines whatever by asking this. The problem is that "idiots" like to rage at "peaceful" people--so, they'd get on here anyway. I think religions & spirituality should be SEPARATED because people are confusing them, (among other things). I think there'd be no "fun" in fighting a fighter. I like your idea, but don't think it would fly. Sadly. Yahoo Answers is working this thing over so much I don't recognize it. Where are my old friends' faces? Where is MINE? What is the red "X" on so many? Perhaps we like to think of this as "our" site, but it isn't.
Edit: THANK YOU Don H--everyone is always getting in ahead of me, but it's nice to have my suggestion confirmed. As to "full gospel shirley" who lumps Atheists with perverts--isn't this an example of how nasty "some" people feel compelled to be? Plus, if someone really wants to better understand Christians, why is it necessary to say that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way? Everyone has a right to believe in whatever, or not to believe at all; they certainly don't have the right to PRESUME their way is the only way. I have NEVER done that, & I never will.

As long as you have ppl, you will have this problem Some dont want peace, and they dont want others to have it. Even if you had anther category, it wouldnt work.Just like now, the athiests and perverts come on the Christian sections to bash us. They would also go on the sites for peace with their war too, and those that are of peace would surely goto the war sites trying to bring peace. I like you think ppl should not go on justto insult other ppl and name call. It meansthey are small minded, and have no real response to make that makes sense, even if it does not agree with the other person. Shows ignorance. At tmes I have almost given up on Yahoo, because of this. Ppl dont usually try to help, just attack. I remember when one on here was suicidal, and there were actually ppl encouraging it. They dont have God and it shows. Just keep speaking truth and praying for the lost and soon God will deal with them, and they will harm Gods ppl no more an never again.

Anyways, I agree, a new category would help protect the people who are not fighting, and assure that when people fight, they are fighting with a "fighter" in the other end. The best though, would be to keep the fighting happening in private e-mails and instant messages. You are 100% correct.

Everyone needs the chance to hear the truth that God wants to reveal to them we don't know who He might want to speak to through us. I know it's difficult sometimes. But as long as yahoo continues to censor profanity and vulgarity the environment is much more friendly. If we can't successfully spread love and compassion in this Q&A forum how will we learn to pass it along to the rest of the world? Chances are those who really don't want to hear and just come to play will get bored and find something else to do.

I asked a similar question sometime ago. Nothing happened. It is better to ignore them. Consider their insults as a test of your faith. You can also report those who do such things.
