Don't worry honey! Every child is different. My daughter started crawling when she was 6 months old. My best friend's son didn't crawl at all and went from sitting to walking (which is very normal too) Don't push your baby to do anything and don't get frustrated over what people say. Kids are different.
You can help her muscles to get stronger by giving her more tummy time. Put a pillow under her belly so it is soft and so that she won't get too fussy. Put a couple of her favorite toys in front of her so that she can't reach them. Hold her feet VERY gently and help her push forward to reach the toy. once she is close to reaching them, move the toys farther. She will start crawling by herself soon.
By the way, are you sure you are ready for her o get mobilized?? Life will NEVER be the same when they do! LOL

Don't worry. My first child only crawled for a few weeks before he started pulling up and trying to stand, and that was around 7 months or so. Some children don't have any interest in crawling, they just go straight to cruising and then walking.
Maybe you could try and see if he has any interest in pulling up onto something. Start slow, and expect her to topple many, many times on your first try.
But, don't let other people worry you. She will crawl/walk when the time is right for her. If there was anything wrong with her I'm pretty sure her Pediatrician would have noticed.♥

No, each child grows and develops at different rates. My son was 7 months old when he first sat up, and 2 weeks later he started crawling, nearly at 8 months, then he started cruising a couple of weeks after that, then walking 10 months. Don't worry, seems 5 months is really young for crawling. I think the majority of them start at around 6-8 months to crawl.

No, not at all. I have been working in child care for over ten years. Most children are crawling somewhere around eight months, but each child is different. So don't be overly concerned about comparing your child to all of your friends and just get down on the floor and enjoy this stage. As soon as she is mobile your in for a whole new set of issues. I know my own son is seven months and he just started crawling. He just got up one day and now he is into everything!!!

crawling... at 5 months? NO! I have never known a 5 month old to crawl. I grew up around children and we have 3 of them. Our oldest was crawling around 9 months, our second was almost 11 months(he simply refused! lol!), and our youngest is 6 months and she is not crawling. EVERY BABY IS DIFFERENT. Just remember that. Just because one kid is talking by the time they are 1 doesn't mean your child will.
She will crawl when she is ready.

It varies tremendously. Some will be crawling by 5 months, some will be much later. My daughter started crawling at around 7 months. I never did crawl. When I was 10 months old, I went straight to walking! Or so my parents tell me. I don't remember. :)

It's not odd. Children develope differently and alot of children just start walking and don't bother with the crawling. My son was 9 months old before he started to crawl. We waited for it but he just took his time. He learned to walk at 1 year.

No my daughter was 9 months old before she started crawling! Before that she would just roll over to where ever she wanted to be. It was pretty funny really. All babies develop at different speeds there's nothing to worry about.

Relax Mama, she is NOT ready for crawling at 5 months!! Most babies crawl from 6 to 10 months of age. It could be months or just weeks before she crawls. Be sure she has lots of tummy time.
Your friends need to read some child development articles. If they think their kids were crawling at 5 months, they're wrong. Ignore them for your own sanity.

Does your friend have children? A very very small percentage of children crawl at such a young age. Generally babies start crawling at around 9 months. But also know that babies who crawl even later than that are perfectly normal.
