I like them. I love the song "Civil War." I heard from my girlfriend that the beginning of the song starts out with quotes from the film "Cool Hand Luke." Is this true? Who was speaking, and what were they referring to in those lines?

The narration in the beginning goes like this:

"What we've got here is failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach...
So, you get what we had here last week,
which is the way he wants it!
Well, he gets it!
N' I don't like it any more than you men."

I think you posted this in the wrong section. Anyway yes it was in cool hand luke. It was the "boss" or warden he was talking about luke, not wanting to do what he was told. It was also a line in the movie major payne.

guns n roses is the BEST band ever!!!im 14 n loved em my hole life!went to their concert last month...it was so awsome!they got good songs...sound...ppl...n story line...nuthin can match em
