I work from home FT while I care for my baby. There are plenty of work-from-home opportunities for moms.
I am a technical writer, which lends itself perfectly to telecommuting. But you can also check out other careers with companies like Disney, chacha.com (a new internet search engine), and airline reservation/travel agencies. Also, take a look at http://www.wahm.com for leads.
I will warn you, though. It's a LOT of work with really long hours, and it can get pretty lonely and boring being couped up in the house all day with no real adult interaction. But I make a decent salary, and it's worth it not to have to put my baby in daycare.
Good luck!

there are many ways to make money while staying at home. Ive been a stay at home mom for about 6 years now, and theres nothing i would rather do. I make money selling things on Ebay, which is alot of fun. I go shopping at second hand stores and turn around and sell what i buy and make money off of the items, normally baby and kid things. I also make fleece tie blankets for babies and i get their names sewn into the blankets along with their birthdates and things like that. Those sell well on ebay. I do daycare after school for two little girls. i watch them from 3pm until 4:30 pm monday through thursday and i make 100$ every week. Theres alot of things a person can do to make extra money :)

I do eBay. I get to combine this with my love of shopping. I scour the stores for the mega-clearance items (usually about 90% off). I usually have to hold on to clothing items for about 6 months for seasons to change again, then I list on eBay. I don't make a ton of money--usually clear between $200-$300 per month, but its something, and I think its fun.
