Why would doing 200 push-ups a day plus crunches cause sudden pain in the head of a teen who has been doing these for almost half a year now? The pain eases off once the push-ups or crunches are stopped. The body seems to be saying stop, but why? Is there potenital danger? Once the head pain response stops, would it be all right to enter a new regime with fewer push-ups?

i think you might be straining too much there and not breathing properly exhale on the way up breathe in on the way down if it still happens GO TO YOUR DOCTOR and tell him about it if u continue to do that u could burst the capillaries in your eyes and face not dangerous i think but not nice looking.

I bet that this teen is getting dehydrated. Drink some water and/or something with elecrolytes like Gatorade -- especially during workouts. Try that and see. It also may be a vitamin deficiency -- make sure that you eat a well-balanced meal. You can round out your vitamin intake with a vitamin or supplement, if needed. But, I'd start with more hydration first. Good luck.

Oh that happens to me all the time, I usually just lay down with the other side of my neck on my pillow (the side that doesn't hurt)

I would have him checked for an aneurysm, a weak vessel in the brain. Push up and crunches cause increased pressure in the cranium.

you may not be breathing right, loss of oxygen to your brain will do it. Or straining to hard.
