Amanda Dowri made a statement that 100% of people do not believe in God. I disagree and think that most people believe in the existance of some kind of higher being/self, So speak up. who out there believes in something higher than our physical plane?

I wasn't having a go at Amanda, I just think she is generalising. I think that most people believe in Something. Although we all have a different interpretation of what that something is. thanks for your answers.

That's like saying that 100% of orphans who never saw their parents should not believe that they had any parents to begin with. I believe in God (Christianity is to be more specific) although I have never seen him (but I have seen his works [miracles]). That is a very bold statement on her part.

Dowri has made a generalisation on a grand scale and I disagree with it. I believe that a higher being created us, although I do not follow an orgainised religion. I have my own spiritual beliefs, but technically see myself as agnostic as I do not believe the world was created in the way that most world religious scriptures tell us. Oganised religion was created by humans in order to control humans. Nobody really knows what the universe is all about. I'm even bold enough to say that my beliefs may be incorrect.

I don't know what to believe until I see it for myself, but in my opinion the universe is way to complicated to be explained away by science or organised religion alone.

When we examine the universe, our world and the way life has evolved as humans we are forced to the conclusion that behind it all is some sort of force or being. However nobody knows who or what that is or what the purpose of it all is. If, of course, there is a purpose. Many people will tell you they know that "God" is behind it all and what that god is but they are only guessing. nobody actually knows. However some people need to believe as long as they do no harm with that belief then that is okay

I believe God exists because of the irrefutable evidence: the beauty and order in nature and the universe, man's superior intelligence and moral nature. But more than anything else because of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the second Person of the Holy Trinity who became man not only to redeem us but also to help us come to the knowledge of God. What man can:
Silence a typhoon?
Walk on water?
Multiply a few loaves of bread and some fish in order to feed a multitude of 5,000?
Bring back dead people to life?
Give sight to people born blind?
Change water into wine?
RISE FROM THE DEAD?
The miracles prove beyond any reasonable doubt Jesus' claim that he was God. He had the power over life and death and the forces of nature. Only a God can have such powers.
And if these miracles were just made up, Christianity would not have grown by leaps in bounds in the first century. Many people witnessed these miracles. For example, the resurrection of Jesus could not be silenced because more than 500 people saw his resurrected body.
Have a blessed and peaceful day!

Most people do believe in a deity. But then again, most people are unqualified to change a fuse in a plug, so why they take it upon themselves to gauge the nature of the universe is beyond me.

No one actually believes in a god or gods. Deep down we all know that this universe just is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. All the gods and goddesses that people believe in are because people are afraid of death. They're so afraid of death that they lie to themselves and to each other. That's why they repeat it all so often, because they're having to scream over the part of them deep down that knows there are no gods.

People claim to see the evidence/proof of the divine essence all around them but they're not seeing the world as it really is, they're seeing it exactly how they want to see it. This is because people who claim to believe are in fact deep down TERRIFIED of death, and they know that they can't escape it, so they'll cling to any lie that tells them they live forever.

It's fairly easy to disprove the existence of any and all gods simply by proving that a necessary consequence of the existence of a deity is not true. This is standard modus tollens and is logically valid.
