This question apparently overlooks the specific verse around which it is centered!

(Matthew 24:14) And this good news OF THE KINGDOM will be preached

Again and again, Jesus himself quite plainly taught that the "good news" that must be preached concerns God's Kingdom government.

(Matthew 4:23) [Jesus] went around throughout the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news OF THE KINGDOM [emphasis added]

(Matthew 9:35) Jesus set out on a tour of all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news OF THE KINGDOM [emphasis added]

(Mark 1:14-15) Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the good news of God 15 and saying: “The appointed time has been fulfilled, and the KINGDOM of God has drawn near [emphasis added]

(Luke 4:43) [Jesus] said to them: “Also to other cities I must declare the good news OF THE KINGDOM of God, because for this I was sent forth.” [emphasis added]

(Luke 8:1) [Jesus] went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news OF THE KINGDOM of God. And the twelve were with him [emphasis added]

(Luke 16:16) From then on the KINGDOM of God is being declared as good news [emphasis added]

The early disciples preached in private homes, just as Jesus did and just as Jehovah's Witnesses around the globe still do.

(Acts 8:12) Philip, who was declaring the good news of the KINGDOM of God [emphasis added]

(Acts 13:32) And so we [Paul and Barnabas] are declaring to you the good news about the promise made to the forefathers

(Acts 15:35) Paul and Barnabas continued spending time in Antioch teaching and declaring, with many others also, the good news of the word of Jehovah

The "good news of the Kingdom" preaches that God's Kingdom is a real government which will soon replace human governments and solve all of the problems facing the earth and humankind.

(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

The good news according to the bible is that Jesus is the Savior, and when it reaches every person in the world (witnessed to) the end is near. It is preached many different ways through the bible, TV, magazines, books, churches, graphic novels etc.... you get where I am going. And when every one knows this truth the end will come. The bible says you don't have to believe for the end to come just that it will be revealed to every one. There still are remote places in the world that have not been reached yet. Missionaries are out now witnessing to the peoples of the world. Let kingdom come

To even begin to understand the Good News we have to first know the Bad News, this is described in the Old Testament in Genesis, when after believing in the lies of the devil Adam and Eve turned from God in disobedience and lost the gift of innocence, this resulted in putting themselves outside the friendship of God and left a stain on their once pure souls.
This is called original sin and this was passed onto their children and every human being after them.
So the Bad news was that humanity had joined the devil in pride and arrogance against the Creator and inherited eternal disconnection from God which is also eternal damnation.
God however in His mercy promised that in time He would restore what was lost by sending a Savior, this turned out to be Jesus Christ the second person of the Trinity who came from Heaven and took on our human nature so that through Him humanity would be restored to friendship with God, and so anyone who believes in Christ and follows His teachings is entitled to inherit eternal life and joy in Gods heavenly kingdom.

The good news is that God will soon bring an end to all suffering, sickness, and death. He will soon bring to justice to those asking for it (these are the people being persecuted in the name of God). God will soon bring an end to Satan and all works belonging to him. This is being preached door-to-door. Who do you KNOW knock on everyone’s door trying so hard to preach this good news?

The good news, that Jesus, who is God, died for the forgiveness of our sins, and He rose again, shall be preached around the world, and when God decides that time is up, then that is it.

It is good news because salvation (getting into heaven, and avoiding eternal hell), is a free gift by believing that Jesus, who is God, died to forgive your sins, and He rose again.
