Before Jesus was crucified, he promised his disciples that he would ask the Father to send them "another Counsellor to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you" (John 14:16,17). It is interesting that the Greek** word "another" that is used here implies "another like me". This "Spirit" that Jesus spoke of came to indwell the disciples of Jesus fifty days later on the Jewish Day of Pentecost.

Only misinformed people say that. The ruling of the Council at Nicea in 325 CE stated that the Father and the Son were of the same substance. They were pronounced equals. Nothing was said at Nicea about any trinity. That did not happen until later at the Council of Constantinople in 381CE. The official "Christian" trinity was not based on Scripture. Instead, it was based on the man-made Athanasian Creed. There is nothing in the Bible that says the Father, Son and holy spirit are equal in substance, eternity and power. It is a man-made invention.
There is one ironic thing about the belief of the trinity doctrine. Non-christian Muslims know the Bible does not teach the trinity. Why can't so-called Christians see that too?

Josie...the final decision about what would be included in the Bible and about issues such as the Trinity came about when Constantine called a council which has been called the Nicean Counsil. This occurred sometime in the 4th century AD. The religious leaders and scholars of the day where those who were called there. Finalizing this task took nearly 200 more years. This is the truth and is historically accurate. It is not an attack on Christian beliefs hun. I am a Christian and I have studied it extensively, as well as consulted several pastors and biblical scholars myself. CC

The Council of Nicea united the concept of Christianity, it did not invent the concept of Trinity, just affirmed it as the right one.

Because it's true?
None of the books that made it into the Bible or that were not discuss Trinity, and if the Canon already existed prior to Nicea, there'd have been no need to discard a number of books.

I spent 8 years in christian education. The councel of Nicea did not invent the bible they took hundreds of books and bits of information that was out there, including was was included in the dead sea scrolls, and pared it down to what became the bible. The trinity goes back to the garden of eden where there were 3 gods discussing throwing adam and eve out. Please study christianity before you open your mouth.
