Why is it that cutting edge medical technology is available for physicians to use over in the war in Iraq, but not here in America? I saw this on a documentary on TV where they mentioned that new equiptment is being used over in the war that's not even available in the USA. And my neighbor who recently returned mentioned the same.
Why isn't it available here in the states?

I'm not sure why... Maybe they rather test it on the Iraquis rather than us the Americans, or cuz of laws and regulations. The FDA prohits the use or the testing of a lot of our medical advances, and they probably feel since they are in another country the law doesn't apply to them and they can test them elsewhere. Who knows, I'm sure there's something behind this.

Such equipments will be essentially useless in a local community hospital. They are definitely available in large trauma centers in the US. More over they were developed and manufactured in the US.
