yes, you would think the parents would realize that their child was out of control a long time ago, but if they cant see that and get help i dont think that they are fit to be parents.
letting them get that over weight can cause health problems. in some respects can be worse than beating them.

If there is no medical reason for it then the parents should be charged with child abuse and have there son taken away so he has a chance to lose the weight and have a healthy happy life

Heck ya. What type of mother would allow her child to be unhealthy.
I mean i've been a few pounds over weight but never 400lbs.

Yes! That is awful! The parents should have put a stop to it the second that kid hit 50 pounds! My 10 year old nephew only weighs 75 pounds right now.

I dont know what news station you were watching but I cant believe that would happen. I dont think it can physically happen cause most 5 year olds are only around like 4'7 at the very tops. The kid would explode or have some kinds of diseases.

I am only 30 pounds overweight and feel miserable. Can you imagine how hard it is for this 5 year old to move about and sleep? It's abuse not to find him some help.

i seen the same thing! the little girl. yeah they are gonna have it on tonight too. she asks if they have popcorn! lol! yeah that poor girl. but her parents are all to blame. you can control what your children eat by simply not allowing them not to eat you out of house and home. or the house! but yeah i agree it should be child abuse. that girl is not gonna have a long life. and will end up having surgery. and her social life is down the toilet. her parents need help.

I think that's going to be on Dr. Phil one of these days.

I think that definitely falls under abuse.

Unless the child has Prader-Willi syndrome, I can't see any other reason for a child so young to have gotten so big.

Yep sure should be. Some parents say that their kids throws tantrums if they don't give them food...I say, "So what!" At age 4 the parents give the child food and cook for them so they are in total control over their kid's obesity. That is obsurd!
