Nothing! Mankind has been-there-done-that already! And most of the Gods of the past are still w/us. Christians talk about there being only one God, but many of the old Gods are still around in the form of figures like Gabriel, St Peter, Mary, etc. People actually pray to these figures (and other Saints) to intercede on their behalf. They are acknowledged as having supernatural abilities to bestow cures, prosperity, etc upon the faithful. Not that much difference between that and the main God (Zeus or Apollo) and all of the lesser Gods of antiquity. So, in my opinion, current Christians do have a pantheon of supernatural beings (Gods) that they call upon for a variety of favors.

I'm not an atheist, but I do have to comment on your question. I'd say we would have a pantheon of imaginary references from which to gain knowledge. My God is REAL!

I once believed in the Air conditioning Goddess, My shrine to her was blessed by her cool breeze all it took was a tithe to cover the electric bill and her power was awesome.

But if you didn't sacrifice your money then the blessing of the Goddess would come to an erupt end, she is a jealous and greedy Entity

You include yourself in atheism? You're confused. By asking questions about anything concerning God(s), be it imaginary or not, you are admitting belief in something that "is", therefore, are'nt an atheist.

What happened to Sho-Nuff, the original? Did Y!A make you close your account? Seems like you are always asking questions about God and His relevancy. It is a good sign that you ask over and over, that you are curious enough to inquire about God over and over because that is the first step.

I pray that one day, you will hear God's voice in your life, and you will have peace in your soul from that point forward.

I think it would be funny. (And no it wouldn't make you any less an atheist because you wouldn't believe that they are real.) I always enjoy hearing references to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, perhaps he needs some friends?
