I have this one guy who I have a relationship (physical only) who I sometimes text msg but he responds and comes over to my apartment. He said he will file a restraining order but I don't see how because I never have gone to his apartment in the past 1 year.

I don't know why I like him but I was trying to prove something with him and he didn't know it was true til lately. I posted a blog as a diary and didn't think he would be able to read it... I just think it's odd that he will do the RO, since I don't stalk him and he is the one who asks to come to my place. When I resolved that thing with him, he still wanted to come over. It was just after I posted it on craigslist that he got annoyed. I did that cuz I wanted to get back at him, he didn't even thank me for helping him.

It's not that easy to get a restraining order - you have to prove fear of physical harm in most states.

i have self assurance that someone ought to opt to educate probably reason with the intention to recieve a Restraining order. Have data that you're being accompanied. once you've any fears or concerns about this man or woman, try to be prepared to describe those fears and or concerns in a way it really is accessible via the courts. also, you've the alternative of contacting an lawyer, and ask them what form of concepts you'll decide on to provide the courts. maximum attorneys will answer a question jointly with this over the phone at no value. also, call the courts and ask for the branch that handles Restraining orders, ask them. yet another source is a Womens take care of, they have Advocates handy to speak with for suggestion.

If a person constantly contacts another after being asked to stop (whether text mess, phone, driving past the house all the time, or on the streets even) then that person may have good grounds to get a restraining order against the other. It sounds like you might want to stop sending text messages to this guy so much, perhaps only one every couple days?

Dont worry, he has no evidence besides the text messages (hopefully they are not threats) if you have not threated to hurt him right? For a restraining order you need actual actions to hurt, harrass, stalk, strike somebody and if he does file one, you reply back and fight it. You will everntually see a judge and things will be resolved. He is probably just talking out of his ***, so dont worry...
But wait, if he tells you this why do you still have a physical relationship with him. Let him go! He wants to control you and you do not need that. You need to tell him that its over, and if he doesnt listen then maybe you should get a restraining order against him!!!
Think about it honey... ;)

My suggestion is to just leave the guy alone if he doesn't want you to speak/see him. That's just asking for trouble. And pretty much he can go down, tell them some BS, and file a restraining order against you. The best bet is to just move on.

Anyone can file for a restraining order for any reason, the trick is that both you and he will have to go in front of a judge and he has to give good reason to have the restraining order. He would have to be able to say you are a danger to him. If he cannot prove that you are harassing him or a danger to him, it will not be approved.

He can still file one, but what's the point if he answers your texts and comes to your place?
However, restraining orders are rarely worth the paper they're printed on. Police say they usually only come in handy as evidence in the murder trial.

Empty threat, doubt he can get one. They do not hand these out like candy.
Do not bother him anymore. Don't text him anymore. Good thing you took down the blog. Do not take his phone calls, do not let him into your home. Stay far away from him. He wants control, this is all.

It seems like he's responding to you, so he can't really file a restraining order because he 's encouraging it.
Why are you still interested in this guy if he's threatening to do this anyway?
