Jimmy Swaggart or Ted Haggard? Both are Christians and both have been at the center of scandals involving extra-marital infidelity. Any scandal, whether it be at a church, in the government, or at the United Way, harms the institution. People feel let down, even betrayed, and are less likely to believe their leaders. When the leadership of the United Way was busted for financial improprieties, all charities suffered for a while.

Rev. Swaggart is a powerful speaker. He has a true gift. But I wouldn't give him a penny of my money.

Jimmy Swaggart is just a man with the same faults as all people. He is nothing special.

He was busted with a prostitute in 1988 and 1991. I am not aware of anything else.

No Christian can convert anyone; conversion is performed by God alone. A Christian is to spread the truth of the word and do their best to live by the example set by God. Nothing more, nothing less.

Jimmy Swaggart got busted? Did he really? For what? I know he had been busted a long time ago. Please provide source. Thanks. Then I will be able to answer your question.

Jimmy Swaggart does belong to the religion of Christianity. But its not my place to judge if he is a true Christian from the heart. Even if he did get "busted" for something. He may be a true Christian. Even true Christians make mistakes. IF they say they don't they are hypocrites.

Doesn't much change my life or my faith, and as far as trying to convert people, it doesn't change that either. Men can do whatever they want to, and if they contradict the scripture, it's on them, not God. Either way, the Bible still says the same thing, and that's the standard I have to go on, not what other people do with themselves.
It's a bit like saying, our current president is a jerk, so that goes to show you the Constitution is garbage. It's not a logical argument.
As to whether or not he is a Christian, only God can judge where his soul stands.
