Before the moderates and liberals, Christianity was all orthodox or conservative. They were responsible for starting many of the Hospitals that the liberals work in now and the soup lines from way back and just about every charity there is was started by conservatives. Especially the orthodox Catholic Church. Before the 1200's it was all there was to Christianity. The goodness does not get the headlines though. Only the bad. There has been far more good done by conservative Christians than any others.

You make a lot of claims without any data or sources to back it up. Your claim that the vast majority of scientists are atheists and agnostics is rubbish. I think you're just trying to provoke people.
Have a nice day!
For Laura:

I agree, Laura. Anyone can cherry pick websites to "prove" a preconceived notion. Looking over the data from the survey link that you included, I could more accurately make the claim that only 50% of NAS members bother to respond to surveys. I guess that also means that most scientists just don't like surveys. I still contend that the claim that most scientists are agnostic and atheist is rubbish.

Your question makes you sound like you just dislike conservative Christians. Conservatism does not equal selfishness. On the contrary, most conservative Christians are very giving people and give to a variety of charitable organizations.
I think the real problem is that we see the government stealing the functions that family and religion are supposed to have. Government would raise our children for us if we would let them. Many of us do. Government would try to take care of the poor and needy but at a tremendous cost. And what's more, I have little to no say how the government chooses to spend my tax dollars. Huge amounts of money are spent by the government in things that I personally find offensive.
Families need to be families again.
Government needs to get out of the religion business and let religion return to taking care of the poor, the sick, and the needy.

Conservative Christians are just as active in charitable causes as moderate and liberal Christians. I think you are trying to equate conservative with radical Christians.
I would be interested in your source stating the vast majority of scientists are Agnostic or Atheist. On the surface it seems like a sensible statement but in my experience scientists are usually made up of the same demographics of other professions.

We are very busy in both suporting hospitals, the homeless, those affected by injustice, storms, dictators, sexual predators, etc.
We just don't believe the government is the best avenue for these things. AND we don't feel the need to broadcast our deeds like so many do.
We also produce the fruit of the Spirit!
But you are generalizing again and your issues with us is obvious. Get the speck out of your own eye and then you will be able to see clearly!

~Alexander the Great professed to be a Christian and look what he did (conquered most of the known world and made Greek the dominant language in his empire)
~Jonathan Edwards was a pastor, scholar and leader during the Great Awakening (1700s) he had 11 children and by 1900, he had 13 college presidents, 65 professors,100 lawyers,30 judges, 3 governors,3 senators, 1 vice president of the United States for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
And those are just 2 examples.......

Well the radicals are trying to prevent the most promising field of biology and medicine to date (stem cell research), they are trying to impose their beliefs on the freedom of women, trying to justify every republican action because that's who they've somehow aligned themselves with... well, that's about it when they're not screwing little boys or having sex with male prostitutes while on crystal meth...
Oh we can't forget they also produce racism, antisemitism, hatred, violence... then there were the millions of women killed during the witch hunts, the millions tortured and murdered by the Spanish Inquisition, the blood libel, and so on.
