What's so important about metaphysical answers?

People focus on how many days it took to create the world, what kind of fruit was in the Garden of Eden, how many angels will fit on the head of a pin.

Doesn't war, poverty, and crime warrant some attention once in a while? It seems that people just invent words to fight about.

These aren't metaphysical issues that you listed, but I see your point. I think the Biblical ideas actually keep people from having to confront real problems. Biblicans just damn those they don't want to help.
