why doesnt my mom like him...?

my parents dont like my best friend i have been friends with him for 6 years, 2 years ago he moved to another state so i only get to see him during the summer when he comes here to stay with his mom, my mom claims she has never met him although he has been to my house so many times i have lost count hes like an older bro to me but she doesnt understand that she thinks he wants one thing from me but i know for a fact he doesnt anyways today is my bday so he called to say happy bday and what not well my mom answered the phone and said, "devin its CJ" i held out my hand for the phone and she told CJ "devin doesnt want to talk to u right now pls dont call back, well that just crushed him so i went "for a walk" my mom took my cell so i couldnt call him but my freind brought hers so i could and i called him back and told him what my mom did he isnt mad at me anymore but still y would my mom do that i think it might be because we act like brother and sister so when i go he says love u sissy and I say love u to well I think my mom might have heard that and assumed I tried to explain but she wont listen to me we talk a lot on the computer and my lil sis loves him, but what can I do about my mom she HATES it when I talk to him AND she yells at me when I get off, someway to treat a guy that saved my life but still what can I do?

the way he saved my life was, i was riding a dirtbike with him and no one else was home we were about a mile away when we went over a jump and i wrecked because the bike was screwed up and the bike went sideways and i got thrown into a tree and it knocked me out he ran all the way home and called my dad and ran back and sat with me until my dad got there then he sat with me in the car until we got to the ER and the next week when i got out of the hospital he stayed with me until i could walk on my own, then he would check up on me every now and then i think that made us grow closer

i meant not right because we had just bought it and it was screwed up like it kept making a rattling sound well my dad is really good at working with dirtbikes and he fixed it he had to go to the store to get parts for the OTHER dirtbike and asked us to take it out for a test drive it was fine up to the jump so it really isnt anyones fault

he only 2 years older than me and my dad thinks he is the best he considers him a son thats how close they r but my mom is just touchy about everything she doesnt like anyone i know not even the girls

It's sad that your mom doesn't like him because it sounds like he's a really discent guy and every girl deserves one of those. She can't tell you who to be friends with so don't listen to her. Maybe she'll get over this but for now don't let her see you talking to him.

Hello Miss Spoiled Conceited Thinks-She-Can-Have-Everything-She-Wants... Just because you're getting clothes at JC Penny's doesn't mean you won't be popular. I think the shirts at places like Kohls are even cooler because everybody who shops at Hollister always has the same exact shirts. I go to a very rich school but live in a middle-class family. Just because I don't wear Areopostale shirts doesn't make people think I'm poor. They just figure that I don't need the shallow satisfaction of dumping my money into buying shirts that everyone else has. Your mom is right. You can wear last years clothes. Unless you gained a bunch of weight or something. If you want clothes from expensive stores, buy them yourself. Money doesn't grow on trees. you're parents are probably hurting from the economy problems going on. At least you could help out by getting a job to pay for you snob clothes.

Some mothers don't want to see a daughter, particularly an only or oldest daughter grow up and move on her own. She might not like the age different. You have described him aside from how you two and your mother relate to each other. She may have a hard time believing it is just friendship and not something more. Especially since she heard you guys saying I love you to each other. I would lay low for a while. Let her cool down and maybe bring it up out of the blue one day when you can both calmly talk about it.

There seems to more to the story then what your telling.
Is it because your mom thinks you could do better or thinks he's a bum with no ambition.
Is he a lot older than you?

Is it because you refuse to see anyone else and she doesn't want you to get hurt in the end?

Nobody hates a person for no reason (although sometimes it might be that they don't know the person)

You keep referring to MOM, is your dad not in the picture? Is your mom upset with any guy you date.

Try to listen your heart or in other words make your own decision don't hear what your mother said.only when you like that your relationship to your friend will last.i think sooner or later your mother understand you.make your conversation away from your home.just look for a special place for you and your friend to meet. try to explain with him your situation regarding your mother.when he understand you so this guy is the right friend.try to be strong....think always that there's "SUCCESS"...

I know your mom is only looking out for you, but she needs to relax or she will push you away. You need to sit her down and make her understand and invite him over the next time he comes to see his mom! happy b-day!
