Liver cancer usually has no initial symptoms, but may eventually cause:

Pain, swelling, or tenderness in the upper right section of the abdomen.
Jaundice -- yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes.
Itching all over the body.
Swollen legs.

My mum had liver cancer and she found out she had it as she had colon cancer first with secondaries of the liver. She did have diarrhea but this was due to the colon cancer. Her stools sometimes changed from being constipated to diarrehea and with blood in her stools. When the cancer of the liver starting getting worse because the chemo did not work her abdomen starting swelling quite a lot due to the liver getting enlarged. Also she began getting very yellow and no appetite at all. She also was very itchy and her legs were very swollen but this was due to her kidneys failing as her cancer spread to all her vital organs. Sadly my mum passed away 8 months ago after fighting cancer for a year and 5 months.

You should probably do some research on the internet on this. Diarrhea does not sound like a symptom of liver cancer, but rather a gastrointestinal issue. If the person has diarrhea for some time, then they should definitely go to see a doctor because it could indicate another problem. From the National Cancer Institute, the 7 warning signs of cancer are--

C- Change in bowel or bladder habits

A- A sore that does not heal

U- Unusual bleeding or discharge

T- Thickening or lump in breast or elsewhere

I- Indigestion or Dysphagia (difficult or painful swallowing)

O- Obvious change in wart or mole

N- Nagging cough or hoarseness

Suggest an oncologist. GPs aren't up on this like they should be. Best of luck.

There is no reason to believe that person has liver cancer. Jaundice and loss of appetite are the principal symptoms.

Don't spectulate. Go see a doctor.

Please, I am no expert. But, I have known three people who have died from liver cancer. All three started with low grade pain in the lower back that got more severe quickly. None of them complained of diar.
