God is on the side of the larger field artillery----Napolean

Prayer gets answered always. The possible answers are yes, no and wait. God does not guarantee successful endeavors to those who pray to Him. He does guarantee that, for His chosen ones, things work out for the best. God's best is something we do not always see, at least at the time we want to see it.
He has a complex tapestry of ways in which He is working in our lives, doing things far more involved and important than who wins a game. However, please do not think that God is too busy to deal with the results of athletic contests or too overloaded to hear the prayers of athletes, coaches and fans. He is infinite and sovereign, holding Lordship over ALL parts of life.
BTW, Tony Dungy recognized Lovie Smith as a Christian coach and said that both teams were doing things the Lord's way. Even that recognition on national TV can be one of the ways that God used the result of that game.
Praying for what you want is not wrong. Christians know that they must ultimately be ready and willing to accept God's will, even if it is not what they want. Again, God does work things out for the best for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)

According to Tony Dungy ... The Colts won because they did it "the Lord's way." Guess that means the Bears were in Satan's training camp.

The truth of the matter is, God doesn't take sides in a sporting event!

First of all god doesn't decide anything, God does. When you say god you are speaking of an idol god, not God. No one really knows the answer to this question, we can only give our opinions on who what we think we know. I believe that He will give the teams the strength and the will to play to the best of their abilities. I think most of the time the team that loses sometimes lose their faith in God, which causes them to doubt his power and that is why they don't come out on top.

God is more interested in who will follow His commandments and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

God made games for us to play and have fun. After what Tampa Bay did to Tony Dungy, God gave the man who would say that he did it the Lord's way the victory.

Sorry but God doesn't really care about sports. I love sports but sports are still worldly and have no power over events that will happen in heaven or hell.

Sports are just that, games and competition. God does not make people fumble or interceptions to be thrown. He does reward those who use their position to honor his name however. By that I don't mean he causes them to win more championships.

LOL...well...I have always wondered that myself. Is it the team that tries the hardest...is there a compelling reason for one team to win over the other??? You know, I just do not know the answer. One to ask when we get to heaven I guess. CC

He flips a coin, plays rock paper scissors with Jesus, or limp biscuits with Lucifer for the winning team.

He lets them slug it out between themselves, and lets the team with the best execution and the fewest mistakes win.
