I have just discovered that all my jpg pictures saved on my computer have become corrupt and cant understand why. can anyone help as they are the only copies i have

when i try to open them in image preview it just says preview not avaiable

i have reinstalled my edition of photoshop and know i get the error message ".jpg marker segment length too short"

the pictures in question are also saved onto cd rom and i have the same problem with those

sounds like you have maybe deleted something from your computer that has taken a shared file with it . try re entering a program such as Paint shop or coral they have an extensive picture tag range ... hope this helps

Why do you say they are corrupt? You probably just dont have a program allocated to open jpg files..

Try restoring your computer to an earlier date incase you have changed somthing, which sounds likely.
