It could be a corrupt ppt file, but maybe it isn't a Power Point file. The error message should have said that it wasn't a compatible file, but Microsoft simply writes software that leaves you HANGING.

Just maybe the author of this file used a newer version of PowerPoint, and used advanced features that your version can't open.

You might TELL the person that sent it to you, that you can't open it. Tell them what version that you have, and that they could use SAVE AS to make it compatible with your system. For instance, if you are using Power Point 95, let them know to PICK that version when they save. Remind them to pick it from the SAVE AS TYPE pull down menu.

Of course, you can also try to install the latest Power Point Viewer. It's FREE from the Microsoft website at http://www.microsoft.com Just go to the Download section.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

It may have been created by an older version of PowerPoint, sometimes they are not compatible.
