Not having any worship in your life means taking responsibility for all that happens to you. Very few people are strong enough to deal with life that way.
But, of the people who do worship, relatively few actually choose their form or being of worship. That is done for them by parents, peers, government, or advertisers.
Worship is instinctive, critical thinking is not.

False idols, God, Religion is all a matter of interpretation respective to the individual. Dogma, where everybody is wrong unless they believe what you say is the end result of collective interpretation and selective reasoning.

If someone is worshiping an idol, it is only a false idol to those who don't believe in that way of thinking. To them, your god is a false idol.

"American Idol" became in basic terms created to charm to interest. (The call). certain, its an outstanding television practice, i prefer to observe it. yet i do not freak out and yell at simon on each occasion he tells someone they sound like a demise pig. maximum American's do have "idols" funds, pc, actresses, recognition, that they put in the front of God--that is erroneous. (and that i completely do not see the point in worshipping a caricature personality..weiirrd.) yet alot of persons are to materialistic in this era, that is sad. i imagine they worship their personal idols extra, because they could surely see and sense it. yet, all in all, no we are not meant to worship pretend idols.

People, in general, are drawn toward idols, it's in their nature, be it the Venus of Willendorf, Carrie Underwood or the cross.

Why do we have to worship your God? To save our souls? Whatever happened the freedom to practice your own religion?

Admiration is not worship
I see your point but you can't draw a parallel between fandom, as stupid and immature as it is, and following a religion.
