The first 20 years of my life sure felt like it, I guess I broke through Hell. I feel for those still struggling though, very deeply every time I think upon my past. Most people don't realize how big of screwed up situations many people can be born into.

I don't believe in an afterlife. But if I can assume that there is an afterlife for the sake of argument, I really don't see the need for a place that is worse than the world we already live in. Why should we suffer more than we already do?

HELL is a state of mind.
Lake of Fire = The subconscious mind's area of repression, the "id"
Hell = Remorse, self-condemnation, guilt and frustration

that question is kind of old. aldous huxley posed that question almost a century ago lol. when aldous huxley took a drug called peyote which gives similar effects to LCD a "bad trip" was what he called hell. he said that schizophrenics had this same effect. you can read about it in "the perennial philosophy, and heaven and hell" great book.

my grandfather always said that hell was here on earth- what else could be worse that watching your child die from a preventable disease that if only they had been born in another country they wouldn't be dying. That if only the world wasn't so selfish your child wouldn't be dying in your arms.

Sometimes I think this is living Hell...all the hatred that spawns racism, terrorism, crime, murder, rape......the natural disasters, starvation, what God would allow this?

Can you imagine it being worse? If you were in hell, think you'd be allowed to have the relief of imagining that things could get worse?

Because when I am thirsty, I can get a drink, I am not separated from God, I am not burning, writhing in pain nor am I gnashing my teeth and regretting dissing Jesus while I was alive, that's how.
