Good habitat for what? Plants? Animals? Microbes? People?
Well, there's lots of water there, the temperature is usually pretty moderate. Without knowing specifically what you're looking for, I don't know if I can provide much else.

Certain plants and animals have adapted to the harsh environment of sand dunes or salt marshes and shingle banks, but it is a good habitat for those particular species.

I was always taught that it is one of the more difficult habitats to live in because organisms there have to be able to withstand such extremes. Tides come in and everything is wet, tide goes out and everything is dry...salt levels change....temps change. It all makes for a tough environment to live in.

because it provides all of the necessary functions for plant & animal species to live. It has air, sunlight, sand (hide, lay eggs,roots to hold on to) and water
