It depends on what your relationship to the person is. Are you this person's relative or direct work supervisor? If so, simply talk to the person in private and inform her. You could use words like, "I'm not sure if you're aware, but you seem to have body odor. I'd really appreciate it if you showered every day before you came to work."

If you don't have a direct family relation or work relationship to the person, don't tell her yourself. Rather mention it to the person's family member or supervisor.

Please also remember that poor hygiene is sometimes a sign of mental illness, or could be an indication that the person has fallen on hard times. Perhaps what this person needs is more than a shower.

I wish it were as simple as ha ha's answer.

It is best to be honest with her. She might be embarrassed, but she will also appreciate you being honest. I'm sure that she will realize that you are not the only person to notice. Most people that have this problem don't seem to notice the odor on themselves for some reason...kind of like a person that smokes doesn't notice the smell. If you don't want to tell her personally send her a gift basket anonymously in the mail with bath gels, and deodorants from a specialty store, like Bath & Body works. If it is a co-worker get others to chip in.

Send them an anonymous e-mail (make a free address or something & use a public computer, obviously don't use your own e-mail or own comp) politely telling them so. They probably don't know they stink, and it's in their best interest to know so they can take care of the problem. They will definitely be embarrassed, but better for them to be embarrassed in a major way once than to continually embarrass themselves because they don't know they have an issue.

I agree with Blue Sky....lol. Leave a little poem too or a bowl of fruit to cheer him up because that soap is gonna hit hard! lol Or wait, why not get him a gift basket of bathing products. That'll look innocent, then everytime you see him after that, ask if he's een using the stuff eh? eh? good idea...

That's a tough situation to be in, I know.. we have a woman at work that smells really bad.. But no one wants to tell her.
If it were up to me, and thank God it's not.. I would write her a note, or better yet type it, so your handwriting can't be detected. And put it on her desk, or work area.
However, if you are not her supervisor, which I hope you are not, else this won't work.. Pass the awful chore of telling her, onto her supervisor. That's what they get paid the big bucks for.

loudly say who has the rotten crotch ? and fan your hands in front of your face everytime you are next to her, she wil get the message eventually, if this does not work, buy her an assortment of feminine hygiene products and leave them in a cute basket for her .

Write an anonymous note, that way the person will get the hint and you won't feel bad.
