Bad idea. He's already counting the days. I think you should be looking for someone around your own age. Nothing magical is going to happen in two months when the clock strikes midnight. Consider what things are going to be like in three months.

I'm almost 30 and I would feel like somewhat desperate pedophile pervert if I even remotely considered that. I'm sure your going to get a couple answers about it being "legal." Thats not the point. The maturity discrepency between you two is very great.
If I was your father, I would go over there and inform him not to talk to you again. I would contact the police, or privately have the crap beaten out of him. This is just sick that a full grown man is seeking a kid.

'my father's a preacher' --- sounds like you are rebelling - in the worst possible way, bc you aren't getting enough attention from daddy!
Have you ever thought that any 30 yr old guy who has to hang out with an inexperienced 17 year old, might have something wrong with him? Did you ever think about his relationship and kids?
Do you really think this will ever go anywhere?
You have your whole life in front of you- hang out with boys your own age, and grow up SLOWLY. Life is too short!!

I think you should pass for now. A 30 year old father of 2 shouldn't be pursuing a teenager if he really was a great guy. This is a relationship you could really end up regretting later on...so think it through.

Your age difference can be an issue between you two later on.

30 with TWO kids???
Talk about baggage!
When I was a teen I dated older men also...and found out most of them were NOT more mature than the boys my age....so just fyi, age does not necessarily mean maturity.
Yeah and your dad will kill HIM!

Drop it. Go for someone your own age. The guy must have issues to be interested in a 17yo.

You are too young. If you were 21 and he was 33 that would be different.

yeah, that's totally wrong. you shouldn't be dealing with someone who's THAT MUCH older than you AND has baggage.. That guy has got some issues if he wants to get with a child himself. you're too young to be dealing with junk like that-go find someone closer to your age.
