What would you do if your love interest became a religious nut? Sadly that happned to me- I dated a woman who was very cool and down to earth- than whammo, one day she decided she was a born again Christian. . After months of her trying to convince me to give myself to Jesus, and my trying to convince her to get psychiatric help, we split. But Im convinced religious zealotry is a form of mental illness, be it Christianity or Scientology... Ever have a relationship tarnished becuse your significant other went on a religous bender? How do you snap them out of their delusions? I really cared about her, but she needed help- but thrived in living with her delusions....

I have lost friends to that. It's like they totally become a different person and you can't have a real conversation with them without being prayed for or them trying to convince you to attend church with them.

Wow, that sucks. I've never had that happen to me, but I can imagine how that would feel. I completly agree with you, religious zealotry is a mental illness. Thats not to say that all Christians are crazy (although many who read this will say thats what you're trying to say). Just the fundamentalist ones are. And it doesn't matter the religion, just the fundamentalint part.

well, in the beginning stages of conversion, she will be very zealous. It's just emotional, not mental illness. She thinks she is going to save you is all. I don't know if she will ever tone down though. Time will only tell how seriuos she is. Sorry about your break up.

What a prejudiced point of view!
There are those who would consider her interest in God as the norm and her dating you as mental illness.
If you wish a serious discussion, don't call people names, nor denigrate them ....please.
