If you get a perm you are still going to have to put effort into it! One always blow dry it with a diffuser, you will need to use product, and will still have to use a curling iron to acheive your desired result (unless you are looking to scrunch your hair)! There are unpleasant factors to perming! One it is just what it says... Permanent! It can be damaging and if it is timed incorrectly (over or underprocessed) you will have minimal curl, and or minimal curl and frizz! If you are set on a perm I would recommend a body wave (usually done with either purple, peach or orange rods... I recommend alternating the rods instead of using one color for a natural result)! Also a body wave is usually an acid formulation vs an alkaline (alkaline is a perm solution used for more resistant, grey, or tighter curl wraps)! I honestly wouldnt do the perm... they require maintenance and most times the client expects the result to be something other than what a perm provides! If you are seriously considering a perm have a consultation prior to the service so you and the stylist have an understanding of what you are trying to acheive!

I would try a perm at least once if I have never had one to see if I like the results. With a perm you do not have to curling your hair as much or none at all if you like the curl. I would be careful though about getting too many perms in your lifetime or getting them too close together. They can damage your hair bad and make it fall out and get thin.

Yes - give it a try, but start with a loose perm that's more like a body wave. Make sure it is a gentle formula. Aveda has a good, gentle perm, so look for an Aveda salon and a hair stylist with lots of experience. You're young and I'm sure your hair is healthy, so go for it! You can always grow it out if you don't like it.

DO IT! You only live once and the perm will grow out, or if you don't like it right away I'm pretty sure you can wash it out. I wasn't allowed to have my hair cut before I was 12 years old, at 12 I was diagnosed with Cancer so my dad got tons more lenient with what I did with my hair and ever since it's been the color cut and style I want it and what I want changes frequently.

yes! i had it...umm my hair is naturally straight and i decided to get a new look so there!;) its a hit! umm try loose curls only and maybe just the lower 3/4 part of your hair so when u get tired of it, u can simply cut it from there (when it grows) and it wouldn't be damaged much...;)

Since you've always had straight hair go for it. It can't hurt, will give you a new look and will eventually go back to being straight. So yeah.
