many people hold this "box" or "bag" over their head, and refuse to take it off to look around, because they are afraid of what they will see? they are afraid to leave the boundaries of their little box and open their mind to new ideas?

why do you think this scares so many?

Human beings are creatures of habit. They don't like change. They like things "the way they've always been"..
Entire business strategies are built around "change management" to help employees deal with new software implementations, new ways of doing things, etc...
The same can be said for religion and spirituality.. people tend to gravitate towards the familiar and comfortable.
It's simply human nature.

Yes it does scare many.
Many place the Bag of Evolution over their heads to hide from and explain away sin and to "Justify" and rationalize sin, and normalize sin, So they go so far as to actually fabricate evidence with pseudo sciences and brainwash themselves because "they can't handle the truth"
They cannot open their eyes to the fact that the Universe didn't "Just happen" from a Big Bang that came from nothingness, so they fabricate elaborate evidences in a conspiracy to brainwash society so as to create was eventually will become a Communist State, which is what they want.

Yes this is called religion. People do it because #1 most of them were raised like this from there parents and grandparents. #2 Hope a lot of people want and need hope, hope to see there dead relatives and hope that it is not just over after you die. you really can't blame them it would be pretty crazy if after you died and left this place that you could just go to this paradise. #3 Old people they need faith, that's why they go to church all the time they have nothing else to do. They need to feel like they are part of something, when really they are its just really not what they think it is.

Oh I have peaked---and let me tell you, it is the word of God that is alive in me-that continues to bear more truth. See, I can read about any other relegion or "philosophy" and it won't matter....because I am secure in Christ Jesus--and I am content and satisified with Him. He is my ROCK! And I know I am standing on solid ground.....it is the only thing that makes sense too, after having spended more time with the Lord in prayer and word. And it is the working of the holy spirit in me! The POWER of God! Goes to show just how true Hebrews 4 is about the word being alive and active.

1 Corinthians 1:18
[ Christ the Wisdom and Power of God ] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

1 Corinthians 1:23
but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

1 Corinthians 1:25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Of course people are scared, but at some point we all have to leave the comfort of our own little boundaries.
There is always a consequence to stepping out. Most people are scared of loss.

because some people accept ideas that they think are right by testing. if you have no perspective and you dont accept certain ideas you would have nothing to test yourself against. you would have no base, therefore you would not know whats right or wrong. if that is true u would have no responsibility toward anything you do. that means ur crazy. lol

Yes.

Some people are afraid of change (such as non-Christians). Some people hold fast to their beliefs (such as Christians).

I think non-Christians are afraid to believe in God, why else would they fight so hard to prove He doesn't exist?
