We all get acne! I swear it's the worst thing that can happen to anyone. Let's get this straight... acne is genetic, the oils in your skin and how much it produces is genetic there's nothing you and I can do. I have oil skin as well and I always make jokes about how it's like a mirror and etc on my forehead and nose. Now, since you are using make up... and you have oil skin= clogged pores with make up,dirt, sweat, and oil= more pimples and redness. The best method for you to use my dear is the oil cleansing method from simply pure products, that's what I'm using right now and I love it. I'm using the acne control facial wash, and their soothing toner and exfoliating brush to work the oils into my skin. The best thing is that everything is natural and the oils have healing properties. The oils mix with the oil in your skin which help lift the dirt and extra oil of your skin and even better with the brush. Before you do this, you need to wash your face with warm or hot water to really open those pores up a couple of times and then apply the oils on your face and when your done with cleasning your face, wash it with hot water again and then with cold cold water to close those pores and pat dry your face, add the toner and apply a OIL-free moisturizer such as olay with sunscreen. Remember, keep your skin hydrated by drinking a lot of water, take your vitamins and maybe drink some green tea once in a while for those healthy antioxidants. Or even eat veggies and fruits packed with them :)

I just went to the doctor yesterday and asked the same question. Her reply: STOP DRINKING SODA! I've used pills, medical creams and ointments, over the counter crap, etc. and of course, nothing has worked for me. I was even thinking of trying ProActive Solution you see on TV. But anyways, the doc said if I lay off the soda completely, my skin will start to improve. I used to have acne extremely bad but now it went down a lot. My only problem area is around my mouth. One other thing I do to keep my skin dry (I have oily skin): I go tanning a few times a week. This dries out my pores and has cleared up about 95% of my skin. And the benefit...you look great! The only bad thing is it greatly increases chances of skin cancer, and it's a pretty expensive treatment for acne. It's a win or loose situation, I guess. But that's what works the best for me so far. Now I will try to lay off the soda and see how much that helps. Hope this was some what useful. Good Luck!

I'm so sorry. I know your pain. I'm not 33 so I haven't had mine as long, but I do know what it's like to have on going acne. I'm actually in the very same boat right now. I have horrible acne and I have tried everything and I can't seem to get rid of it. Everyone has told me that I should go to a dermatologist. I'm looking for one right now. That would be my advice to you. Find a dermatologist. They should be able to help you.
Good luck.

PLEASE don't use Proactive as the extremely harsh chemicals do more damage to your skin than good. Any improvement in your skin you may notice will only be short lived (ie. maybe a couple of months) then it will be back to problems again. Don't use soap because it is EXTREMELY drying and you will end up with dry patches and then oily patches - very difficult to control and work with.

I use Neways, a brand 100% guaranteed to be free of ALL toxic chemicals and products that ACTUALLY WORK. I used to have problem skin and since starting on their products, have had no problems. My sister in law had really bad skin and found Proactive really damaging (it actually bleached her skin and made it worse than it had been before). She tried Neways and within a week found it to be fantastic. Neways works to balance your skin so you end up with clear, clean moisturised skin that people really notice.
If you would like any obligation free info or samples, shoot me an email super_staa@yahoo.com.au. I am in New South Wales but am happy to post you some info anywhere in Australia.
You can also check out their website www.neways.com.au
I loved it so much I became a Neways distributor!!

DON'T USE PROACTIV, AND DONT WASH UR FACE WITH SOAP!!!! i really mean that. dont because if u use proactiv ur skin is going to become immune to it and it won't do anything. Soap is the worst thing to wash ur face with it'll dry it out way too much. All u really need to do is cleanse with a good cleanser one that contain alpha hydroxy because it'll help hide ur pores. a toner and a moisturizer. and if u have sever acne i would use a treatment like clearacil ultra. It has 10% bensoyll peroxide which is stronger than proactiv. Proavtic isn't that strong. there are many products out there that are much stronger than proactiv. you just need to read what it says. I hope this helped.

quite often if you are a woman in your 30s who is suffering from acne the cause will be an imbalance in your hormones. This is my problem - took me far too many years to figure it out but I once I did I finally got my acne under control.

You need to ask your dr. to test your androgen levels and if they are too high you will be prescribed a birth control pill approved by the FDA specifically for the treatment of acne. I think its YAZ in the states. Here in Canada it is Diane35, which I use and LOVE.

Ask your dermotologist to perscribe Ziana- a new acne gel. It works. It dried out all my pimple in weeks. I still use it to maintain skin clarity and wash my face with Cetaphil and moisturize with Cetaphil. I tried everything under the sun, inlcuding accutane twice.

go to an acne skincare and not a dermatologist. at an acne skincare, they help rejuvenate and even out your skin tones, get rid of acne permanently, and doesn't leave any scars on your face or use alcohol. dermatologist just makes your face look worse by leaving scars behind and using alcohol.

well you can actually talk to your doctor about getting acne pills, for people who have had bad acne for a while this is usually a good solution, but my friend didnt find that it worked at all, other good ways to treat acne and which i think is the best way would be proactive, its a little expensive but it works great. but remember, sometimes it had to get worse, before it can get better
Bye, hope I helped
