when i wanted to buy a sub ,i was the most confused person of this world...so to that i read reviews..thousand of reviews..from many websites and many brands..at last i knew which is the leader..what is spl or what is sq..there enclosers.i didnt had much money at that time and even i wanted the best...but u cannot get everthing from life..so i started with the most common sub..purchased it..collected more money ,sold it and again purchased a better, and so on..take my advice dont be in hurry...jl audio r really good..but r too outta range...audiobahn r good and fairly priced...then last came alphasonic(i had never heared one).for best quality nd fairly priced-not lowest priced- i will say MTX5500 or INFINITY KAPPA PERFECT 12D VQ..just hear them and u'll kno y they r good at that price.

Alphasonic will be "cheapest"...and most likely least expensive. Audiobahn...so so. JL Audio...high price and mostly all hipe. You really need to be more specific on power handling, music preference, system purpose (ie..SPL or SQL) and size prefered. Vehicle type makes a difference too.

Best quality IMO would be the JL audio's.

...you also must take the type/size of enclosure (space available for it), RMS watts of the subs should be able to handle the watts RMS of the amp, impedance the amp can handle and type of music listened to into consideration.

Also the amp should be CEA-2006 compliant.
