It depends on the couple and your prior situation. If you were able to have alot of sex before you lived together, maby it isn't such a big deal. The idea of "its there, I can have it whenever" can make couples go either way.
My advise - do it as much as possible while you can!
I am married and we have a 18 month old. We never get to have sex. Maybe once or twice every couple weeks if we hit naptime just right or we can get a few minutes alone. Scheduling sucks but its important to make the time for each other.

My answer is when you feel like it...
The problem is when one feels like it more than the other... if your sex drives are way off and you are the person who wants it more...
Ask yourself this... can I live with getting it only as much as she/he is giving it...
if you are the one who wants it less can you give it as much as they want it? and not start hating it...
Normal is relative... and well you might not be normal... it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you... you are just different...
So what would be "wrong"... if somebody wanted sex so much they couldn't function as a positive member of society...

There is no "normal". Every couple is different. If you are humping several times a week I think you are doing pretty good. Daily is best.
