This may sound crazy but does anyone know of a good psychiatrists in Tampa Florida that is not a pill pusher and has genuine concern. I don't mean to sound funny using the word crazy in the question :)

Well, many psychiatrists only handle medication. They are medical doctors and their main concern is getting you on a medication or combo of medications that will help you function.

A psychologist or therapist (NOT a medical doctor) exists solely to help you sort through your issues. You may want one of each. . . see the psychiatrist only once a month or so to talk about medication issues, and see the therapist on a more regular basis.

You may want to calla few nearby and ask a few quesitons. It sounds as if you are looking for someone to talk to at first. Perhaps a priest or minister at your local church would be a good place to start. If not, then Id suggest your school counselor, a teacher who seems concerned and which whom you have a good rapport.

In many areas there are help lines that you can call to talk to someone about problems you may have personally and they can also give you a list of counselors or psychiatric professionals who work with the same sort of issues.
