An arrest warrant remains open indefinitely; however, although you can be arrested as a result of an open warrant you may not be charged for the original offense if it is subject to a statue of limitations and it has expired. Your fingerprints are the FBI's Automated Fingerprint Identification System. The NCIC is dependent upon the information being reported to them through federal, state and local law inforcement but I would work under the assumption you are in the database.

arrest warrents never go away untill they are resolved,, if you have an outstanding warrent, get it taken care of.. and you should carry the papers with you to show it was settled... there was a case here in nov.2006, where a man 58 years old was just checked at a road block, and there was a warrent for his arrest dated in jan.1980 for failure to appear. his family in the car, he was locked up .. spent the night in jail.. it was a mistake, and that is why i say to carry papers to show it was dismissed.. courts do mess up. because you get some under paid clerk there that is to dam lazy to do the right thing.

I don't believe so. You don't have a warrant from a ticket anyway, it is from "Failure to Appear Before the Judge" which is a more serious offense. Deal with it because outstanding warrants can haunt you in other aspects of your life.

Some warrents NEVER expire. For example a murder warrent for a suspect never expires, becuase there is NO statute of limitations on murder.

Never. You either have to appear and pay the fine, plead your case or do time.
