What are a few of the most popular drinks at a bar?

I just turned 21 two weeks ago, and all I can bring myself to order is a cranberry and vodka because it's all I know. What are some other good, common drinks that mix liquor and fruit juices or soda?

congratulations on turning 21, hope you got a free drink from the bartender. Anyways, Sex on the beach is good it has cranberry, peach schnapps, and vodka. Bay breezes are good if you like vodka pineapple and cranberry. Sea breezes replace the pineapple in a bay breeze with grapefruit. Try drinking a screwdriver if you want a simple Vodka and orange juice. Gin and juice is also common. One of the latest crazes are Soco Limes, it's southern comfort with lime juice. If you want strong drinks try the Long Island family of drinks, basically a mix of 4or5 liquors topped with usually coke or sprite. examples are Long Island Ice tea, Tokyo Tea, Long Beach Ice Tea, Adios Mother F*@ker. When in doubt, always ask the bartender, if he or she is a good one they'll always hook you up with something good.

I prefer beer. It always tastes the same (some bartenders either make the drink too stron or not strong enough).

Here's how they're done:
1. Fill a tapper glass with ice
2. Add one shot of each:
-Kaluah
-Vodka
3. Fill the rest of the glass with 7up or Sprite.
4 Stick a straw in it and let it settle (the alcohols and 7up will separate)
5. SUCK IT DOWN - FAST. It kinda tastes like a tootsie roll. They're grrrreat!

If you want a strong drink, try a long island iced tea, or a bacardi dark and sprite, or an absolute red bull, or a bloody mary, or a dry martini. My favorite restraunt drink is a VO manhattan with an olive and a twist... Be carefull cause it's what I call gasoline. Shots.. yager, taquilla, doc's, or the one that will make you puke....nasty ole Mallort.

Tequila sunrise is good (usually just an orange juice and tequila and grenadine, thats cherry syrup)
if you like chocolate get Kahlua and cream or stronger kick is White russian which is the same thing with added vodka
if you dont like to taste your alcohol, which I dont most days then get an Amereto sour and its very sweet but simple. if you want shots you can handle b/c many times people want you to shoot somehting with them do Amerreto shots or my personal favorite (and quite fun to order!) is a Dirty GirlScout, it seriously tastes like a peppermint pattie!! try it thats what I got wasted off of for my 21st Bday!!

White Russian- glass filled with ice,pour one shot of vodka in glass,one shot of Kaluah ,top off with a splash of milk or creme.
Good summer drink is Vodka and Tea..with a lemon wedge.

Congrats on turning 21. Some drinks I would suggest would be:

- rum and coke
- gin and tonic
- vodka tonic
- red bull and vodka

All these drinks are tasty and easy to drink, and not too girly! :-)

I started out just liking tuty-fruity drinks too . . then you get broke and learn to like beer! haha!
