My printer is like that too.
It only runs out of ink when something is majorly important and I've got no time to go out and get another cartridge. It happens too often to just be a coincidence. It knows what it is doing and I think it's a little bit evil too.

My printer does the same thing...especially when i have atleast 20+ replacement checks to print!...it screws 1 up and that messes up the remaining 19+....Grrrrr...Im convinced that my printer and perhaps ur photocopier is female and is going through a severe case of PMS!!
