There are several good fleas markets of which I prefer Les Puces de Saint-Ouen which is at 48, rue Jules Vallès, 93400 Saint-Ouen (technically a suburb). Just take the metro to etiher Porte de Clignancourt (line 4) or Porte de St-Ouen (line 13) whichever is more convenient. Once outside just follow the crowds.

The flea market mentioned earlier is very large and a bit to commercial for my liking. I've found some wonderful items at the market on the other side of the city. Porte de Vanves. It's smaller and you're more likely to find people clearing out their house/cave...

I've gotten great deals on art, crystal, and assorted tchotchkes there.

For small markets, I love rue mouffetard and the shopping district east of Bastille.

St-Germain-des-Prés is a lovely little area on the bank of the Seine with lots of narrow winding streets.
