I think it's a wonderful day!
Trick is to not get swept up in all the hype and play into the hands of big card and gift companies!
My husband and I make sure that it is the one day of the year that we are together - UNDISTURBED. Plus we get lovely cards where we tell each other how important one is to the other, and we put a price limit of £10 on a fun romantic gift! xx

Here's what Valentine's day really is.
A) a hallmark holiday.
B) JV night at all the restaurants which people feel obligated to go to.
C) The one time all year when some couples express their appreciation for each other?
D) The guy attempting to one-up the girls friend's boyfriends so they can talk about it the next day at work or school.
I am not a fan of Valentine's day. I think the things people do are way over the top. Huge presents? Hell we just had Christmas! Plus, if you are in a healthy relationship, you don't have to wait until some date on the calendar to remind someone that they are special to you.
I usually just make a card or something and we cook dinner together with a bottle of wine at home and do the whole charade. We do this stuff just about every night anyway.

Well, Boys don't think valentines day is romantic because they are being told by Hallmark to be romantic.
Isn't the best part about Romance, its' spontaneity and unpredictability.
Would you feel that I was more romantic if I sent you flowers on Valentines Day, when I'm told to, or if I just sent them to you on a random Wed in October?

I was always uncomfortable with Valentines day cards as a teen and now I am more mature am certain it was the correct feeling. It is just part of the benchmark for our promiscuous attitude towards relationships. It is more fitting for married couples to send such things to further cement their togetherness as time goes by and I feel very comfortable sending one to my wife.
There needs to be a complete reappraisal of the way relationships are allowed to develop in our society and we have to attain more self respect and a greater regard for chastity generally. There is no romance in a string of broken relationships and unwanted pregnancies.

The reason why boys think valentine's day it's stupid is usually because they have to spend money when they really don't want to. Also most single guys hate valentine's day because they don't have a girlfriend. In my opinion it's cool.

If I had someone to share valentines day with, then sure it would be, Romantic! But as I'm all alone valentines day is the stupidest day ever, wish it was over.

i think its great cos its my birthday, which detracts slightly from the fact that i never have a boy friend and all that birthday cake stops me from getting too maudlin about all the romance stuff.
the shops dress their windows with pretty hearts and stuff to make me feel special, so even if i am on my own i still feel like the day is there just for me.
plus aged aunties always send me valentines cards with the words 'happy birthday' written inside.
its a great day!!

i think that it another over rated day where people spend money to show how much they care or don't care. Women make a big fuss over it and men always stress about. Valentines day can make or brake a relationship. I think that the world would be better without it!!!!

I think its great for new couples to do cute things for each other. . but the longer you're in a relationship, you know that your significant other loves you and they (should) show you and tell you on a daily basis. . so it's less important.
Especially after you have children because it's next to impossible to find a babysitter on Valentines Day!

Hi hotstuffd! I'm a boy but never i have thought about Valentine's Day as stupid.For those who are lonely at heat it can be true that when they hear the word Valentine they think otherwise.
This is a day ineed to show my romance to the girl i love by offering the special gift to her just to mark the significance of the day.
