Don't God and Satan both want evil to exist?

Isn't this something they agree on?

God wants it to exist because it's necessary in order to have free will, or so you all tell me.

That's actually a really good question. I would answer "Yes", they do, but for very different reasons. God understands that we all must be tested and tried in this life, and allows such to happen through the existence of evil. He also desires that we ultimately overcome our trials and return to live with Him someday. Satan on the other hand wants us to succumb to our temptations and be miserable like him. "And because he (Satan) had fallen from heaven, and had become miserable forever, he sought also the misery of all mankind." (2 Ne 2:18) He wants evil to exist for a very different reason.

Again, interesting question, adding the "isn't this something they agree on?" makes you think twice about it, since God and Satan would seemingly never agree.

In this case I think you may be stretching it a bit although I understand the premise and why you indicate such.

To say that it is God's desire that evil exist is pushing the bubble so to speak. While Satan is allowed to tempt us, it is only to a certain extent. There is emnity, or a berrier placed between man and Satan. He can temp, influence and entice but cannot unless we allow him, overcome us. As such I disagree that it is God's desire.

It is God's will that we progress. As a part of our proving it is indeed necessary that we experience opposition in order that we may grow. For every force there is an equal and opposite force. The extent to which we choose to allow ourselves to experience these opposing forces is neither thrust upon us or required of God. It is his will that we experience, learn and overcome the forces or temptation of evil. As such it is necessary that it be here.

If that is what we agree on then yes, we agree.

no he doesn't Satan is the one who brought down his demons when he was cast down to earth in 1914. i mean if you were the ESSENCE of love would you agree with evil? Thats where armageddon comes in. Jehovah is going to lock satan and his demons up in a fiery abyss for 1,000 years. and the meek one will posses the earth forever. jehovah gave us free will to give us choices he didnt want us to be just robots. what we do with that privlegde is up to us. to serve Jehovah or serve satan and be destroyed in Jehovahs day?
