Depends how much money you have to keep going to the dentist. I believe they can "screw-in" individual teeth so you may not need a false pair of choppers.
The taste, could be a piece of rotting food lodged in a cavity, im sure you would know if it was an abcess. So before things get any worse, get to the dentist. Aint it strange tho' , when you come out you wonder what all the fuss was about.
Go do it.

Most reputable dentist will do all they can to save the teeth you have now. On your initial visit they will let you know exactly what they can do, how much it will cost and what should be dealt with first. Pulling teeth is not done unless it is the only option.
The black bits on teeth have to be dealt with before it gets any worse. Most cases they'll take out the bad parts and fill it with a white filling, it really depends on how much damage there is. The filling will be taken out and replaced (some cases you may need a root canal). The sooner you get it looked at the better.

By making no visit to dentist in the last 4 years you do not mean taking no care or following the basic oral hygiene. Just have courage as there is nothing serious you have explained. You are only making a mountain out of mole for yourself. Taking sweeties on a regular basis or otherwise is also a no big issue. Visit your dentist as if making a courtesy call to a friend or family. Good luck.

Get over being scared and go to the Dentist. Your doing yourself a lot of harm by not going, Not only are you taking a chance on losing a tooth but you could get gum disease.
And gum disease is no picnic. Believe me I"ve been there.
And also gum disease has been proven that it could lead to heart disease. I'm not kidding about that. Just ask a Dentist.
Good Luck.

there is a good chance that the dark spots on your teeth are just stains, in which case they wouldnt need any fillings.
what is your age? i doubt that you have anything to worry about. just go to the appointment and...if any work needs to be done...they will probably schedule it for a later date anyway! so...no need to be worried about this appointment! about 5 years ago i went to the dentist after over 10 years of not having gone. i had no cavities, and i just walked away with clean teeth! its been 5 years, and i guess its time to go back!

go to a dental college. they will work with you and save the teeth they can save...you won't be yelled at or scorned as the damage is already done. they will save what they can and recommend caps or false teeth.
YOU HAVE TO BE TRUE TO YOUR TEETH SO THEY WON'T BE FALSE TO YOU.
false teeth are ok..cause they never have to be filled drilled or pulled...also they look cool as they are nice and straight and white

they will xray first to find out how deep the cavities are,if they are not too bad they can fill them .but a bad toothache will make you want to pull them out yourself,go see a doctor, don't be a baby.
