God cursed Cain with black skin because of his killing Abel. That's in the bible, so if you believe in the bible you believe the same thing we do on that matter.
Obviously his posterity would have darker skin...that does not mean that all his posterity is "evil" or "cursed" or whatever. We believe we are all God's children and all have the same opportunity to accept or reject of the gospel. There is no discrimination regarding gender, skin color, race, background, single, married, whatever. We invite all to come unto Christ. People referring to a "war in heaven where all good people got to be white and the bad ones are black" no matter what any person says - that is not doctrine. There may be opinions of that, I don't know, but it is not doctrine and has never been taught as doctrine. The prophet has never said it was revealed to him what all happened in the pre-existance.

That's just it: The Book of Mormon does NOT state that black people were cursed. It does not mention anything at all about people of African descent, or Asian decent, or Australian Aborigines, or Swedes, or Englishmen or any race. It is talking exclusively, no matter how many jillions of people want to take it out of context, about one specific family of people--the Lamanites, who lived somewhere in the Americas. If you would like, we can define this scientifically: A group of people live outdoors in a tropical climate. It's hot, and they wear little clothing. The survive by hunting. They do little farming. The do not build homes, other than huts to sleep in. Because of the small gene pool, the chance of having many physical traits is narrowed. They are darkened because of constant sun exposure. Therefore, they become dark. (God has scientific means of doing things.) But, we can also address this in a religious aspect: God saw the wickedness of this particular people and did not want them to be attractive to the other race of people who also lived in that land. Just has He has historically (throughout the Bible) divided peoples and races, choosing some and not others, and blessing some with a particular gift and not other, and He wanted these two races to remain apart. If you would care to read further into the Book of Mormon, you would see that in the end, it is actually the "white people" who become glutted with greed and are evil, and the "black people" who become righteous and good. What does God say about Asians? I lived in Korea for a few years, as a soldier, and later, a school teacher, and I attended church there as well. The Seoul Korea temple was the first I attended, after a 14 year absence in the church. I have performed temple sessions in Korean language, in the behalf of Korean people. I can tell you from the first experience of ever attending there, and seeing the Korean Latter Day Saints enter the temple that they are truly delightful and amazing people, are very much chosen by God and will inherit all the blessings that were promised to them.

No. They thought the people were bad and were cursed by god with black skin so white people could identify them.

See what Wahnote said... the curse originated both from Cain and from the Lamanites (the decendants of Laman and Lemuel).

To implied such a idea as our doctrine is illogical.

Is like saying all blacks are bad, and all white is good.

There is alway good and bad people, no matter what race is out there.
