You need to have a sit down with your husband. 1st your mother in law should not be involved in your marriage. The real question is why is he getting her involved to have an op ion. He is not looking at your relationship the way he should. The both of you from the day the "I DO'S" are a TEAM. You both need to keep friends and other family members out of your marriage. Dragging others to take sides only causes you and your husband to grow further apart. Is your husband is looking to be right rather then resolve the issue? Your mother in law should have a little common sense to mind her own business. Unfortunately you are not only fighting with him this turns into a battle with his mother as well. This battle you will not win. Win the war! get him to understand the damage this is doing to your relationship with him & how you feel. Most men do not reliaze the damage situations like this cause. They think because it is there mom it's ok.

He has not severed the umbilical cord yet--It's good that he loves and respects his mom, but he needs to respect you as well..I would say don't create her versus you types of scenarios--these are hard for men to handle--His mom has known him a lot longer than you have and has raised him-she knows how to emotionally blackmail him way better than you can so don't play that game--yes--you can eventually leanr to be good and to beat her--you're living with him every day, right? But then you will be just like her..Instead--try to create differnt scenarios--look at decsions and make them about doing the right thing, etc..don't get into the little fights--they go nowhere and cannot be resolved...

Yes that is true, mom is always right even when he knows she's wrong. He has to agree with her because he said she will get mad. I am married to the biggest mommys boy for sure.

You seem to contradict yourself...

Never mind though.

Firstly remember they are your kids - and your husbands, and while other people may suggest things, the ultimate choice rests with the parents.

Secondly - what makes you so sure you are right?

Just because you are married, does not mean he has to agree with everything you say - maybe he really does believe what his mother says is better. It should not be about who says it, it should be about what they say.

I have found that men never want to create any waves with their mom so of course moms are always right!! I have the same problem and its just an area I have to overlook.

Don't make him "pick" either of you. Men are Momma's boys forever. LOL Don't worry about it, you get to have him everyday now. I have two sons myself and find myself jealous of thier girlfriends. Let him make it, it is hard for the men to be in the middle. : )
PS THE WIFE IS ALWAYS RIGHT! hehehe

When your children become older and get married you will understand. Don't you know MOMS are ALWAYS right. That's part of being a MOM. ALWAYS being RIGHT. At least to their children. Especially to their SONS.

Normally guys will pick their mom over wives because they have been with them their whole lives. When you were little are you trusted was your mom. So, these guys grow up with them and trust them more!!! That's my opinion.
